"Humanity has advanced, when it has advanced,
not because it has been sober, responsible, and cautious,
but because it has been playful, rebellious, and immature."
Tom Robbins

Web-Dev

These are some of the web developing projects I worked on, either as a programmer, designer, or both. I worked on most of them during my times as a developer at Universidad de Belgrano, others are the result of my work for Inguz-SI, a company I co-founded in Buenos Aires some years ago.

Projects for Universidad de Belgrano

» Caminata Virtual (Virtual Walkthrough)

walkthroughI designed, modeled and programmed this VRML-based environment for the University's admissions department. Using some (very rudimentary) plans of the University's main building (the "Tower"), I modeled the main entrance and on of the main classroom floors using 3DS Max. Then, I exported the project to VRML, tweaked it, and created a mini-site to hold the environment.

You can try it out here. However, note that it required Internet Explorer 5.0 (or newer) and Windows, plus a VRML plugin installed in your system. Also, all text, instructions and comments are in Spanish. If you don't meet these requirements, you can see a screenshot here (or click the thumnail).

» Cátedras Virtuales (Virtual Classrooms)

virtualclassroomThis is a web-based file exploring and publishing system. It is used by the University teachers to create a document structure and upload documents, hyperlinks and other material into a "Virtual Classroom". There is a DHTML/Javascript control panel from which the teacher can dynamically manage the content. A different version of the application with reduced features is available for students to access the contents published by the teacher, download documents and archives, surf to hyperlinks, etc.

Unfortunately this application is only available for teachers, students and alumni of the University. However, you can see a screenshot here - or clicking on the thumbnail.

» Biblioteca Digital (Digital Library)

The Digital Library was one of the first project I worked on as an employee of the University. It is a collection of digital media (CD-ROMs and DVDs, Electronic Documents, etc.) which can be browsed, searched and accessed from the University's Library as well as the Internet. It was programmed in ASP with a SQL database.

The Library has gone through some modifications since I worked on it, but it is still available online here (in Spanish).

» Sistema de Información a Alumnos (Student's Information System)

The SIA is a complex system developed at Universidad de Belgrano to give students access to their complete academic status in real time from the web. I designed and developed a module using ASP, DHTML and JavaScript which allows the operator of the system to customize access to all its features, by defining rules to create user groups.

Projects for Inguz-SI

» GFA - Gonzalez Fischer Asociados

logo-gfaWeb portal for GFA, a consulting studio in Buenos Aires which provides support for small and medium organizations. The ASP/MySQL based portal integrates a news system, document publishing, and other services; everything is dynamic and can be controlled from a custom designed administration module. It can be accessed here.

» ICG - International Consulting Group

logo-icgAnother web portal, this time for ICG, an international association of financial services firms. The portal implements multiple languages, news publication and other services and also can be dynamically customized from an admin panel. Developed using PHP and MySQL. You can see it here.

» EquilibrAR.org

logo-equilibrarSmall, static website for EquilibrAR, a medical centre specialized in patients with equilibrium-related disorders. Nothing big, just a simple PHP-based website. Online here.
